URGENT NOTICE
This has not been an easy decision to make and we are really sorry to have to do this, but we’ve come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to cancel tonight’s swim and this afternoon’s Sup/Kayak hire sessions.
Yesterday’s weather attracted a large number of people to the quays. Our team had to deal with a number of issues on and off the water relating to the general public – non customers. Our team is here to provide fun watersports in a safe environment, unfortunately, we received threats and abuse in addition to vandalism and theft of equipment.
We expect that this afternoon and evening will be the same, if not worse.
Our team cannot control what’s happening outside of our gates or around the dock.
Our priority is to keep you and our team safe; we need to ensure that when you’re swimming or on a session, our safety team is not distracted by what’s happening elsewhere, social distancing is not compromised and that our swimmer to safety cover ratios are being maintained.
Unfortunately, the number of people we have encountered at the quays when the weather is nice means that we would be overwhelmed this evening, it is unsafe to run any activity.
We hope you understand our decision, yours and the team’s safety is the most important thing.
The centre will be closed today from 2 pm. If you are booked on to tonight’s swim, please fill out the form underneath.
We’ll be back open Friday for Wakeboarding, Stand up Paddleboarding, and Kayak Hire.
