Looking for a fun and flexible way to enjoy the water this summer? Our SUP and Kayak hire sessions are perfect for practicing your skills or just having a blast. Suitable for families, friends, and individuals! No prior experience required!

Session Details

  • Duration: 60 minutes per session

    • Every Day During the School Holidays
    • Plus extra midweek sessions added each week when we have availability

Pricing

  • SUP & Kayak Hire: £10 per adult, £7 per junior
  • Giant SUP: £40per board (up to 5 people). Add up to 2 more people for £8 each (max 7)

Important Information

  • Supervision: A safety team member will be on hand, but only for emergencies.
  • Age Requirements: 8yrs+ – Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Children 11 and under must be on the water with an adult (1 adult to 2 children).
  • Clothing policy: Please ensure you read the clothing policy under the ‘What do you need to bring/wear’ Section – ALL PARTICIPANTS NEED TO BRING & WEAR SHOES ON THE WATER
  • Group Policy: Groups of 6 or more youths (16yrs & Under) will need an adult present on the water. We reserve the right to ask for ID for proof of age where necessary. This is to ensure safety of all participants and ensure group control.

When booking for multiple people, you’ll need their email addresses to invite them to fill in their details. Ensure your group is aware of the session information before booking.

Session Information (Must read before booking)

We provide the following pieces of equipment:

  • Craft, either a Paddelboard or a Kayak (1 person per craft)
  • Giant SUP (Up to 5 people, or add on up to 2 extra)
  • Paddle
  • A Buoyance aid that must be worn at all times
  • Helmets for anyone under 17yrs
  • Wetsuits are recommended and can be hired for an additional cost of £4 if pre booked online or £5 if booked on site. You just need to bring swimming clothes to go underneath the wetsuit.  
  • If you do not wear a wetsuit, you need to bring clothes that can get wet, ideally shorts and T-shirts / gym leggings / active wear. NO SWIMMING COSTUMES / BIKINI’S / BARE CHEST  
  • SHOES – ALL Participants must bring shoes that can get wet, these need to be closed toe, solid soles and secure (Such as old trainers or wet shoes – NO FLIP FLOPS OR SLIDERS)
  • Under 17’s must wear a helmet, which is provided.  
  • We have both male and female changing rooms with showers and toilets plus 2 individual / accessible changing rooms
  • We have lockers that are available to use. They take a £1 coin (returnable), please note we are operating with very limited cash, so we do not have change.  
  • Any loose items should not be taken on to the water, if you wear glasses, we recommend wearing a glasses strap to ensure. SWC cannot be held responsible for any damages/loss.  
  • Don’t forget to bring a towel / bag to carry your wet kit!  
  • Minimum Age is 8yrs old – 8-11yrs must be on the water with an adult (ratio of 1 adult to 2 children)
  • 11-16yrs must have an adult on site with them 
  • ALL Participants must be able to swim 50m and be water confident
  • Adult supervision is necessary for all minors, both in the water and around the centre.
  • We reserve the right to deny access to anyone who we suspect to be under the influence of alcohol, with no refund provided.
  • Adherence to our clothing and footwear policy is mandatory for participation. Limited spare footwear may be available.
  • Respect for all safety instructions and centre rules is obligatory.
  • Dogs may join on kayaks only, under the owner’s responsibility, and must be wearing a lifejacket (not supplied) and leashed when not on the water.
  • Activity is restricted to Dock 8. Please be cautious on the slipway as it can be slippery, use the designated mats.
  • Spectators are asked to remain outside the gated area.
  • Disrespectful or unsafe behaviour towards staff or fellow participants will result in immediate removal.
  1. Complete all necessary forms and questionnaires before arrival to avoid delays.
  2. No refunds for lateness or missed sessions. Arrivals over 30 minutes late will be denied water access.
  3. Strict 72-hour cancellation notice required for refunds, requested via booking details and email to watersportscentre@scll.co.uk.
