Learn to SUP at Salford Watersports Centre

Ready to try something new this summer?
Our Learn to SUP (Intro to Stand Up Paddleboarding) session is the perfect way to get started on the water in a fun, relaxed and safe environment.

Over the course of 75 minutes, you will learn the essential skills needed to paddle with confidence. With calm waters, quality kit and expert support, there is no better place to start your stand up paddleboarding journey.

This session runs every Thursday evening 19:00 – 20:15

What to Expect

Our Learn to SUP session is aimed at complete beginners. We will kit you out with a buoyancy aid, give you a quick shoreside demo, and then get you onto the water for real practice in the calm inner basins of Salford Quays.

Throughout the session, you will cover:

  • Getting comfortable standing and balancing on the board

  • Basic paddling techniques (including how to turn and stop)

  • Safety tips and how to fall safely if needed

  • Moving confidently and efficiently on the water

Whether you are coming along on your own, bringing a few mates, or looking for a fun and active way to bond with your work team, you will be made very welcome.
