A wrap on an epic four-day water sports course with the Abraham Moss Warriors!

Abraham Moss Warriors is a multi-cultural club for youths in Cheetham and Crumpsall, which focuses on providing a safe environment to bring people from different backgrounds, nationalities, and faiths together to become more involved in sport and healthy activities and also to develop their potential.
Over the past four days, we have welcomed this fantastic club on an exciting four-day watersports activity course. It has been an action-packed week, from designing, building and paddling their own rafts to learning how to Stand-Up Paddleboard and Kayak.

No two days were alike, and each day brought new challenges and opportunities for individuals to stretch their limits and develop new skills, all while having fun! The participants showed great enthusiasm and dedication, quickly picking up the skills and techniques required for each activity. It was a pleasure to witness their growth and see them conquer their fears while having a blast on the water.

A key highlight of the week was all participants earning the RLSS Rookie Lifeguard Bronze Stage 1 award. Water safety education is incredibly important and it’s vital that our youth are equipped with the knowledge and skills to access water responsibly and safely. When working with the Abraham Moss team earlier in the year to organise this fantastic course, one of their primary requests was that we included a Water Safety session. The completion of the RLSS UK Rookie Bronze Stage 1 award demonstrates the dedication of the Abraham Moss Warriors to ensuring the safety and well-being of their community members, and we are pleased to have been able to support this.

Throughout the past four days the participants and volunteers have been a pleasure to work with and they are credit to Abraham Moss and their wider communities.

A big well done to all and we look forward to your next visit!
