Choose your craft

Katakanu or rafted canoe | Ages 8+

A stable, shared boat for a sociable evening on the water. Both options seat up to six people and are suitable for beginners.

These are a good choice for families or anyone who would prefer to paddle with others. Sharing a boat means others can help with the paddling, making this a more supported option than paddling your own kayak.

You can usually expect to stay relatively dry, although splashes and rain are still possible.

Anyone under 17 must be accompanied by a paying adult on the water. You may share a boat with other participants unless you book all six spaces.

Kayaking | Ages 17+

Paddle your own single-person kayak as we explore the Quays together. Beginners are welcome and our instructors will provide guidance.

Kayaking requires a good range of movement to get on and off the kayak and use the paddle. If you would benefit from others helping with the paddling, please consider a Katakanu or rafted canoe.

We use sit-on-top kayaks, which offer a stable paddling experience. We’ll aim for you to stay dry, but the seat can get wet and splashes or a fall into the water are still possible.

Paddleboarding | Experienced paddlers aged 17+

Experienced paddleboarders can choose a SUP through the Kayaking booking option. Select paddleboarding when completing the booking questions so we know which craft to prepare.

This option is for people who already have paddleboarding experience. If you’re new to SUP, please choose a kayak or shared boat for your evening paddle.

If you’re unsure which craft would suit you, please contact the centre before booking so we can discuss your needs.

Changing rooms and lockers are available. Bring a returnable £1 coin for a locker. You’re welcome to wear neon or bring glow sticks to add to the evening!

Your craft, paddle and buoyancy aid are included. Buoyancy aids must be worn throughout the session, and helmets are provided for anyone under 17.

We’ll aim for everyone to stay dry, but splashes, rain or a fall into the water are still possible, particularly when paddleboarding. Our trained staff will be on hand to assist.

Please leave valuables in a locker. If you take a phone onto the water, use a suitable waterproof pouch and secure it against loss.

Please arrive 15-20 minutes before your booked start time to check in and get ready. Late arrivals may be unable to join once the group has set off.
