Interested in working at our centre this summer?

We’re on the look out to train up several new staff members to join our friendly and supportive team. The main season runs April to October. It’s a fast paced, enjoyable environment with no two days being the same!

For the role, the team will be training people as a ‘Watersports Team Member’. Offering casual / flexible work which will involve the following duties:

  • Providing safety cover for Sup / Kayak hire sessions
  • Providing safety cover for Open Water Swimming session
  • Launching / packing away of kit
  • General centre duties such as cleaning of changing rooms / centre and kit
  • Other duties as required

This coming March / April the centre will be running the following course package for future staff:

  • RLSS Open Water Lifeguard 3-day course
  • RYA Powerboat Level 2
  • General Centre Training / Inductions

Total cost of this training per person is £375, with various payment/funded/subsidised options including a funded option if you can commit to working a number of hours over the course of the season.

The centre will also be running a paddlesports instructor course and training for those with no experience. Please get in touch with the centre for further details.

Requirements

  • You must be aged 17 years or over
  • Interested in working in the sports or outdoor industry
  • Available to work evenings / weekends
  • No practical experience needed but general fitness / ability to swim is required
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Responsible and safety conscious
  • Must attend the Induction / all training

Hours of work / rate of pay

With the above qualifications there will be many shifts available throughout April and October. The majority of these will be evenings and weekends, and during the day in the school holiday periods.

During April and July, dependant on ability, there maybe some weekday shifts available to assist with the school’s programme.

The hourly rate is £10.29

Progression

As the centre offers a variety of watersports, training is available to become instructors in sports such as:

  • Stand up Paddleboarding
  • Kayaking
  • Wakeboarding
  • Sailing
  • Plus, other in-house training schemes we provide
