Try something new this year and give Wakeboarding a go at Salford Wake Park!!!

What is wakeboarding?

Wakeboarding is an extreme sport performed on water. The rider is fastened to a board and pulled along by our system 2 wake park cable.  It’s almost like riding an endless wave and it is suitable for a wide range of people.

It looks hard, can anyone do it?!

From the sides, it can look a little hard however wakeboarding is actually one of the easier watersports to get into! People of all ages, sizes, shapes, and abilities can get involved with wakeboarding. We guarantee after your first session you will feel amazing!

Is it like water skiing?!

In contrast to water skiing, wakeboarding is largely about freestyle and creativity. The short flexible board allows riders to launch into the air, completing spins, flips, and rolls in quick succession. Tricks can be performed off the surface of the water or by using features such as kickers, rails, and sliders.

What does a beginner session involve?!

When you arrive you’ll be given a wetsuit to get changed into, at the moment we only have 2 accessible changing rooms open so we’d recommend getting here about 15-20 mins before your session. Once you are ready, you’ll head over the wake park and meet your coach. You’ll receive one to one training with the coach to learn new skills, from basic techniques to advanced tricks. They will go through a brief land demo with you and then you’ll head straight on to the water. Everything will be delivered at your pace.

How much is it?

It’s £30 per person (adults and juniors over 10)

When is the Wake Park open?

Wakeboarding is available Wednesday’s and Friday’s 10:30 – 19:30 and Saturdays 10:00-17:00
