We are a friendly junior sailing club based in the heart of Manchester, at the Helly Hansen Watersports Centre, Salford Quays.
Our aim is to introduce young people to the sport of sailing, without the extensive cost of club fees, training courses and owning your own boat. Here at the Helly Hansen Junior Sailing Club we provide all the kit you need to complete the stages 1-4 – his includes Wetsuits, Buoyancy Aids and the boat. In addition to this, we believe that sailing is all about fun, and not the pressures of being forced into racing and competing at a high level. Of course, if this is what interests you, then we have a whole host of offsite training and competitions that we attend each year.
What will you learn with us?
RYA Stages 1-4 – this covers everything from the novice to expert youth sailor
RYA Start Racing – this is an introduction to racing, and fits perfectly alongside our offsite training and competitions
When is it?
Friday evenings 6:00 – 8:00 pm, from 3rd April 2020 – September 2020
What Kit will I need?
Suitable footwear that can get wet, this will protect your feet when moving around in the boat
Change of undergarments for under a wetsuit
Towel and Shower gel
How much will it cost?
Each session based at the Helly Hansen Watersports Centre is £7.00 or £6:00 for watersports members
Membership fee for 12 months is £10.00 (for your first session we won’t charge this, just to allow you to determine if this club is what you expected) Watersports membership is a further £10 which gives you a £1 discount of each activity (optional)
Offsite training (usually a full day) is £20.00
