Beginner Lessons

Individual Beginner Session (1-1)

The session runs in the same way as the 1 ride pass sessions but is 30 minutes rather than 15, this gives you time to learn the basics and practice standing up!

  • £30 for both Adults and Juniors
  • Available most days the Wakepark is open

Group Learn to Wakeboard

If you are looking for more of a group session, book onto one of our Learn to Wakeboard mornings and benefit from an extended session allowing you to spread out the riding and learning process and pick up tips from the others.

  • £30 per person for a 90 minute session (Up to 4 people can book on)
  • Email watersportscentre@scll.co.uk to book this. Alternatively you could book 3x beginner lessons via the website.

  • Wakeboard rental (included in the cost)
  • 1-1 coaching

Requirements

  • All participants must be able to see and swim 30 metres unaided
  • Wakeboarding does require a reasonable level of fitness, but it’s not essential. Although the sessions seem short, they take up a lot of energy in a short space of time so it is a great workout!
  • Minimum age is 10 years old

What to bring

  • Swimwear (to go under a wetsuit)
  • Towel
  • Shoes to walk over to the Wakepark
  • £1.00 for a locker

Progression

Once you have completed this session you can then book either a ride pass or onto one of our Wake Jams. Jams are a great way to socialise and pick up tips from regular riders, they are 3-hour sessions where each rider takes turns allowing you to space your ride out and take a well-earned breather!

Junior Learn to Wakeboard – Holiday Courses

For juniors we run the BWSW (British Waterski and Wakeboard) Cutting Edge scheme. This has been developed by BWSW and is a program of development for young wakeboarders.

There are 4 different levels that the young riders can aim to achieve.  There is Cutting Edge Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. When each level is achieved the junior riders are given a certificate.  Riders will have a Cutting Edge logbook that they work through.

Young wakeboarders can participate in Cutting Edge by coming on a session by session basis and working through the logbook. Or they can come on one of our junior courses that run in the school holidays.

For the Summer holidays, we run a 5 day (morning or afternoon) course where the junior will work through the cutting edge scheme.

Check the website and our facebook for upcoming dates for Easter and Summer 2022.
